Guess the Breeds Contest
Square or blocky-headed dogs have a far harder time getting adopted than any other dog due to the “pit bull” label and discrimination from the stigma against their appearance. Pit Bull isn’t actually a breed, but instead a group of breeds of bull and terrier dogs. Identifying breed from appearance has proven to be extremely unreliable. Many different combinations of breeds can look like a “pit bull.” We believe every dog is an individual and ALL dogs are beautiful!
So in honor of “St. Pitty’s Day,” the Ulster County SCPA is hosting our first ever breed identification contest to prove you can’t judge a dog by its cover! Guess the breeds that make up our adoptable boy Sid ($5 per guess) and if you are correct, you qualify to win a DNA test for your own dog - valued at $80.
