Thomas Rhett kicked off his “Home Team Tour" this weekend in Michigan, and closed out the night covering one of his favorite artists, Bruno Mars. Just so happens that Thomas and Bruno will both be performing at the 2017 iHeart Radio Music Awards this Sunday night (simulcast on WRWD's sister station 96.1 KISS-FM.
Thomas brought out tour openers Kelsea Ballerini, Ryan Hurd and Russell Dickerson to join him for a cover of Bruno Mars’ latest hit “24K Magic,” with Thomas and Russell handling a verse each, and Ryan and Kelsea getting into the action on the chorus.
This isn't the first time Thomas has covered Bruno in concert. He's previously performed "Uptown Funk" and "If I Was Your Man" at shows.
Thomas is this year’s spokesperson for Big Machine Label Group, General Mills and Feeding America’s Outnumber Hunger Campaign. Starting this Wednesday, those who purchase specially-marked General Mills products can enter the code found on the package along with their zip code at Outnumberhunger.com to help Feeding America secure five meals on behalf of their local food bank. Outnumber Hunger has helped secure more than 45 million meals for local families since the campaign began in 2011.
