Central Hudson's Text Alerts Keep Customers Informed! #AD

Central Hudson’s text alert system keeps customers informed of outage updates – and lets customers report outages easily – anywhere, anytime, from any mobile device that is capable of text messaging.

So, how can you sign up for Central Hudson’s text alerts? It’s easy! To register for this service using your mobile phone, text REG to 236483 (the numbers correspond to “CenHud” on a numeric keypad). If your cell phone number is not on file with Central Hudson, you will need to provide your 10-digit Central Hudson account number to complete the registration. To register for this service online, log into your Central Hudson My Account and click on “manage text/email alerts” under the “self-service” tab at the top of the page.

This texting service is offered at no charge by Central Hudson. However, depending on your plan, your cell phone provider may bill you for messages received and sent with this service. Central Hudson is not responsible for these charges. Before using this service, check with your cell phone service provider for text message costs. Visit www.CentralHudson.com/Alerts to learn more details. Get local, dependable weather forecasts and information on storms that may impact energy service at www.HudsonValleyWeather.com.

Don’t forget – if you see a downed power line or other potentially hazardous condition involving electrical equipment, stay away from the area. The ground around downed or low hanging power lines as well as surrounding objects such as fences could be energized. Call 911 to make a report. While you wait for a Central Hudson crew to arrive, continue to keep a safe distance and, if possible, keep others away. Central Hudson crews will arrive as quickly as possible.
