Blake Shelton Donates $50,000 to Hometown

Blake Shelton is putting his money where his heart is.

The country megastar has announced he will donate $50,000 to his hometown of Tishomingo, Oklahoma. The funds come from concert ticket sales at the Sooner State native’s Old Red Tishomingo restaurant-venue.

The 50K donation will support the 15 acres of Pennington Creek Park, including improvements to its small Delta’s Landing splash pad.

“It’s always fun to play your hometown, and now that we have Ole Red in Tishomingo, we can pop up and play anytime,” Blake says. “We played a lot of music, had fun and raised money for Pennington Park! Now that’s a good time!”

Blake celebrated the grand opening of Old Red Tishomingo in September 2017 and donated a donation of $32,000 to the nonprofit J.C. Reaching Out, which provides financial assistance to family members of cancer patients.

He also christened the venue with a private performance that included a surprise collaboration with his girlfriend Gwen Stefani on “Go Ahead and Break My Heart.”

Blake will open Ole Red Nashville on the city’s Lower Broadway this spring.
