Hazardous Household Waste Event Coming to the Hudson Valley

How many computer monitors, telephones, or printers do you have taking up space at your house? How about batteries, antifreeze, pool chemicals, or other solvents? No one wants this stuff to pile up at their house, but where can you safely dispose of it?

If you are a Dutchess County resident, mark Saturday, May 8 on your calendar for a Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Collection Event at the Dutchess County Department of Public Works at 626 Dutchess Turnpike, Poughkeepsie.

The event will be held from 8 am to 12:30 pm, but you must register and pre-pay a $10 fee. All participants must wear a mask while signing in at the event and you won't need to exit your vehicle, the event staff will unload your household chemicals and electronics.

Not every item will be accepted, here's a link to those items you will be able to bring and dispose of.
