Ulster BOCES Nursing Assistant Class Offers Gateway Into Health Occupations Field

PORT EWEN — This October, the Ulster BOCES Adult Career Education Center is beginning a new session of the popular Nursing Assistant (NA) course, which prepares students for entry-level positions in the ever-growing health occupations field.

The next session runs from October 3 until November 2. Classes will be held onMondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 3-8 PM, at the Ulster BOCES Adult Career Education Center in Port Ewen. Clinical training will occur at a local health care facility in Kingston.

No previous experience is necessary. Students will be trained in the many aspects of developing good patient care, and upon successfully completing this 125-hour course and passing the New York State Department of Health Certification Exam, they will be qualified to work in long-term care facilities, hospitals, or home care agencies.
