Just before Christmas, Dolores St John brought her old car to Mechanic of West Orange in Orlando Florida to get it repaired, but shop owner Rolondo Rojas took one look at it and told her to take it to the scrapyard.
The elderly woman got upset until the mechanic explained that he was going to give her another car for free. Rojas had a car that he was planning to sell, but decided to give it to St Johns instead.
Dolores didn’t understand why Rojas was giving her a car, but he said it was simple, “Because you need a car.”
She says the 2010 Kia Forte is the best car she’s ever owned, and Rojas giving it to her was the nicest thing anyone has ever done for her. “Nobody’s ever done anything that good for me,” she says. But Rojas doesn't think the gift was anything special. “I’ve been blessed and I don’t mind helping out when I can,” he says. “And she really needed the help.”
