Oct 15th Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

Oct 15th is national pregnancy and infant loss remembrance day!

More and more we, as a society, are learning about personal struggles women and families are facing all the time with pregnancy and infant loss. Please remember to be kind to one another because you never know what is going on at home or behind closed doors.

There are ways you can part take in this day. A lot of communities and organizations hold candlelight vigils, walks and other ceremonies. You can visit nationalshare.org to find ways you, and your loved ones, can show others support with pregnancy and infant loss.

There is a bit of history to how this national day came to be. October 25th 1988, President Reagan designated October as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. In the year 2002, the campaign for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance day began an American movement. 3 women, Robyn Bear, Lisa Brown and Tammy Novak, petitioned the federal government, as well as governors from all 50 states. This resulted in 20 signing the proclamations to recognize Oct 15th, 2020 as the first observance of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day! Besides the US, the United Kingston, Western Australia, New South Wales, and Italy have joined the movement.

As I said before be kind to each other, you never know what battle and person or a family could be facing.
