Teen Uses Social Media As Last Hope to Raise Money for Her Cancer Treatment

Shauntelle Tynan was desperate to raise money for her cancer treatment. So the 18-year-old used her social media skills and power of the internet. She reached out to friends and strangers on the internet around the world. The goal was to cover mounting hospital bills for her cancer treatment. Well, happy to say they didn't let her down. Shauntelle's plea was answered by hundreds of thousands of people.

Shauntelle Tynan posted a video to her YouTube account last week and within 48 hours, she’d received more than $500,000 on her GoFundMe page.

"I really need to raise this money because I don't want to die," Tynan says as she fights tears in the video (below). "There's really not much more to say. This is what it is at the moment."

The teen has now raised over $750,000 for her treatment, which is only available in Texas. Donations have come in from all around the world and people are leaving encouraging messages like “Please stay strong darling” along with their money.
