Dolly Parton has a heart of gold. She wanted to help as many people as possible with her My People’s Fund, which she set up following the November wildfires that hit Sevier County in East Tennessee.
Dolly pledged to send $1,000 a month for six months to those whose homes were destroyed. She was successful in helping 691 families devastated by the fires.
All in all, more than 80,000 donations were made to Dolly’s fund, with even more money raised through Dolly’s telethon, which featured performances by Reba McEntire, Kenny Rogers, Chris Stapleton and more.
