An eight-year-old boy from East Palestine, Ohio had a craving for a McDonald's cheeseburger and nothing was going to get in his way.
He was going to ask his parents to drive but they were sleeping. So, he thought he can drive himself if only he knew how to drive. The quick thinking boy decided to get some driving tips from a YouTube instructional video called "How To Drive An Automatic Car-FULL Tutorial For Beginners." (see the video below).
Apparently, he took very good notes and paid close attention. Next, he and his four-year-old sister hopped in his dad's van, and headed straight to McDonald's to get some cheeseburgers.
Believe it or not, YouTube educated the kid REALLY well.
Officer Jacob Koehler said the child drove a mile from his home with his little sister in the back of the van. The 8-year-old drove through 4 intersections, over railroad tracks and also required him to make a few right hand turns, a left hand turn and stayed under the speed limit. .
Witnesses told police he did obey all traffic laws and drove the speed limit.
But McDonald's employees called the police anyway. when the officers arrived, the boy and his sister were in the McDonald's drive-thru lane about a half mile from their house, ordering food which he paid for out of his piggy bank.
No charges are going to be filed. The children did get to eat at McDonald's while they waited for their grandparents to pick them up.
