New York Mets starting pitcher Matt Harvey will make a rehab start at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill tomorrow (Saturday) evening. The Mets ace with pitch for the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Mets’ short-season Single-A affiliate, against the Hudson Valley Renegades.
Harvey has been on the disabled list since June 15 recovering from a stress injury in his shoulder. The Mets said they expected him to miss “several weeks.”
Prior to his injury, Harvey made 13 starts. This season, he is 4-3 with a 5.25 earned run average in 70 1/3 innings pitched. During that span, he's struck out 54 batters, walked 35 and allowed 42 runs.
Tickets are selling fast. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm tomorrow. There will be a fireworks show following the game.
