Carrie Underwood Will Debut New Song For Super Bowl

Carrie Underwood returned this past weekend with a new theme song for NBC’s “Sunday Night Football.” She is looking and sounding great.

“Sunday Night Football” executive producer Fred Gaudelli is so impressed with Carrie's performance that he asked Carrie to write a new song, “The Champion,” which will debut before Super Bowl 52 in February. “I think it’s going to become a sports anthem,” he says. “It’s going to be one of those songs that you see cut to highlights for the next 25 years.”

Carrie’s hubby, former NHL star Mike Fisher approves of the song. “My husband loved it,” Carrie says. “He would listen to it before playoff games. He was like ‘I want everyone to hear it!’ and I had to tell him, ‘You can’t do that. You can’t play it in the locker room. I’m sorry.’ But that was a good indicator that we were on the right track.”
