Keith Urban is making a tradition of bringing in the new year performing live in Nashville. For the second year in a row, Keith ushered in the New Year by performing at Nashville’s free Music City Midnight celebration on December 31.
Keith continued a tradition her started in 2016 performing a medley of songs by the artists we said goodbye to in 2017.
The country superstar paid tribute with “Black Hole Sun,” a tribute to Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell, Gregg Allman’s “Midnight Rider” and Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode.”
The medley continued with Don Williams’ “Tulsa Time,” Glen Campbell’s “Wichita Lineman,” and Montgomery Gentry’s “My Town,” in memory of Troy Gentry, who was killed in a helicopter crash in September.
Keith wrapped up the medley with AC/DC’s “Back in Black,” a tribute the band's late guitarist Malcolm Young, into a full-length version of Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’.”
