“The Four’s” Finale Is Set

“The Four’s” Finale Is Set

“The Four Battle For Stardom” continued its search for the next great superstar and iHeart On The Verge" artist on last night's "Comeback Episode" with only one week till the big finale.

The awkward moment of the show was when Jason Warrior called out Meghan Trainor after he lost his seat (watch video below).

To recap, going into the episode the current “Four” consisted of Nick Harrison, Tim Johnson, Jr., Kendyle Paige, and Jason Warrior. In this week’s episode, some new challengers did battle with The Four, as did previous contestants Ash Minor, Candice Boyd, Saeed Renaud and Zhavia, who got a chance to reclaim their seats.

After The Four kicked things off with the Black Eyed Peas’ “I Got A Feeling,” with a little help from host, and BEP Fergie, the battles kicked off. This week’s battles included:

  • Vincint Cannady - He kicked things off with Coldplay’s“Magic,” and impressed the judges enough to earn a challenge, and went after Jason, the longest-running member of The Four. Jason performed John Legend’s “Ordinary People,” while Vincint performed Brandy’s “Sittin’ Up In My Room.” In the end, Vincint won the battle and secured a spot in next week’s finale. Jason didn’t take it very well, and actually called out judge Meghan Trainor for saying a few negative things in her final critique and the judges were not at all happy about it.
  • Evvie McKinney – She wowed the crowd with Andra Day’s “Rise Up,” totally won over all of the judges ad easily got a chance to challenge, picking to go after Kendyle. Kendyle chose Alessia Cara’s “Stay,” while Evvie performed Aretha Franklin’s “I Never Loved A Man The Way I Love You,” and Evvie definitely impressed the judges more. As for how the audience felt, they completely agreed with the judges with Evvie landing a spot in the finale.

Then it was time for the comeback challenges, where the four former members of The Four, Ash, Candice, Saeed and Zhavia had to battle each other for a chance to challenge for the only two spots in contention for the finale.

  • First up was Candice vs. Saeed - Saeed chose K-Ci and JoJo’s “All My Life” as his song, while Candice opted for Keysha Cole’s “Love,” and won the first stage of her challenge. She then chose to battle Nick, who had a few choice words about the old contestants getting to come back. Nick went with his take on Fat Joe’s “All the Way Up” for his song, while Candice sang Lauryn Hill’s “Ex Factor.” And Nick must certainly have regretted speaking up because in the end he lost and Candice reclaimed her spot on The Four.
  • Next up it was Ash vs. Zhavia, with Ash preforming Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man” while Zhavia performed Cardi B’s hit “Bodak Yellow,” with Zhavia winning the challenge. She then battled it out with Tim, who went with The Weekend’s “Earned It” for his song, while Zhavia went with Great Big World’s “Say Something,” and apparently she choose better because Zhavia earned the final spot.
