Here we go again. Delta Air Lines says hundreds of thousands of customers could have had their credit-card information compromised after a cyberattack on one of the companies that ran a chat function on the Delta's website.
Sears was also informed of a similar attack that occurred around the same time. Sears said fewer than 100-thousand customer credit cards were potentially affected by that breach.Delta said yesterday the breach was restricted to transactions on its website, and did not affect bookings made via its app or mobile platform. Only credit-card information was affected, with no exposure of identity data such as passport numbers. Delta has since dropped the chat facility from its website.
