It was bound to happen sooner or later...
Have you ever wondered how Major League Baseball players and athletes from other sports can play and run the bases while wearing big gold chains around their necks?
Check out the clips below of Yoenis Cespedes of the Mets. He usually wears a very expensive diamond necklace when he plays. Well, his luck ran out when the six figure necklace broke as he was sliding into second base, scattering diamonds on the field. As you'll see in the video, Cespedes was NOT happy about it.
DIAMONDS were scattered everywhere. Yoenis was FURIOUS when he saw that it broke, and he threw the rest of it on the ground.
A short time later, his teammates and an umpire picked up some of the pieces.
Some of his teammates presented Cespedes with the repaired necklace. No word on if they recovered all of the missing diamonds.
You may recall something similar happened during the playoffs last year, when Houston Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. had his diamond necklace break (photo below), and he had to dig them out of the dirt on the pitcher's mound.
