Memorial Day Weekend Traffic Will Be Highest In Over a Decade

If you plan on traveling this Memorial Day weekend, you may want to stock up on supplies for your trip. Make sure your tank is full and top off the fluids.

Almost 42 million Americans will kick off the summer by traveling for Memorial Day weekend.

Triple-A's Jeanette Casselano  says that the top destinations look a little different this year. Orlando is still number one while other popular destinations this year include Phoenix, Anchorage, Seattle, Las Vegas, and New York City. Triple-A anticipates a five percent increase in travelers this weekend, which pushes the total to the highest it's been in over a dozen years.

It appears that sky-rocketing gas prices aren't discouraging millions of Americans from going on road trips. However, that means major highways could see delays up to three times longer than usual. The worst times to leave are today and tomorrow.
