According to multiple sources, ABC may in fact be moving forward with a spin-off of the recently cancelled TV show, "Roseanne." The main focus would be centered around Sarah Gilbert reprising her role as Darlene Conner. John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf are reportedly also on board with the spin-off accorrding to sources plus the show’s other stars.
Roseanne Barr’s shocking recent tweets caused the cancellation of TV's #1 show. In order for the spin-off to happen, Roseanne has to agree to fully walk away from the project, which sources say she already has. The show will only get the okay if she agrees to not be involved financially or creatively and waive her right to fees generated from the new show.
ABC hasn’t officially picked up the show for series, but thanks to the “Roseanne” reboot ratings, its speculated that they just might. The show’s original writing staff and crew would work on the spin-off as well as showrunner Bruce Helford and executive producer Tom Werner of Casey-Werner.
ABC has also not yet announced what will be taking “Roseanne’s” Tuesday night slot in the fall.
