Have you ever wished an app would be available to get more information on groceries than just fat, cholesterol and sugars? Or foods to avoid due to allergies? .Great news! There's a new app that gives you nutrition label info at your fingertips.
A new smartphone app called SmartLabel can give you that. Sally Greenberg, the executive director of the National Consumers League, says you just download the app and let it work for you. With more than 7-in-10 shoppers wanting more detailed info about what they’re eating, this will go a long way.
The information, from more than 28-thousand products, can include things such as allergens and additives, and where the product is made. The Food Marketing Institute and the Grocery Manufacturers Association developed SmartLabel. You can find it at SmartLabel.org.
