The Randoms-Small Thing Does your Physical/Mental Health Good

Good conversation is sexy … Time to work on your conversation skills … A survey by dating site Plenty of Fish found that 74 percent of singles said good conversation was a better indication of chemistry than physical attraction. And 63 percent of respondents said the best way to identify a compatible partner on a dating app is through conversation. (PRNewswire)

Giving back is good for you … A new study found that volunteering for as little as two hours a week is good for your physical and mental health. According to the study, 75 percent of those who volunteered in the past year said it made them feel "physically healthier." 93 percent of respondents said volunteering  improved their mood, 79 percent reported lower stress levels and 88 percent said giving back increased their self-esteem. (NY Post)

Great minds think alike … A new study found that close friends share the same brain patterns -- which is a big reason why your friends "get you" so well. The researchers went so far as to describe the brain patterns of friends as being in sync. The closer the relationship with the friend, the more similar the brain activity, especially in traits like motivation, attention and judgment. (Harpers Bazaar)

Boozy box … For years, boxed wine has been available -- and often ridiculed. Well now, the Black Box wine company is doubling down on the idea by offering tequila, vodka and whiskey in a cardboard box. And like their wines, these boxes also have a little spigot that pops out at the bottom for serving, which means you can have tequila, vodka or whiskey "on tap." Cheers!  (Esquire)
