Sexy Handmaid? So ... a costume company made the tone-deaf decision to try and sell a “Sexy Handmaid’s Tale” costume. The costume, dubbed the “Brave Maiden Costume” and sold by fashion brand Yandy, featured a red miniskirt and cape, and, of course, a white bonnet. Needless to say, it created an uproar – and Yandy pulled the costume from its site. (Independent

Can you guess America’s favorite coffee spot? If you guessed Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts, you’d be wrong. According to a new Harris poll, the 2018 Coffee Shop Brand of the Year is … Krispy Kreme. (Reader's Digest

Stamp this depressing … A focus group in Virginia found that many college students who have gotten an absentee ballot don’t send it back. Not because they aren’t politically engaged … but because they don’t know where to buy a postage stamp. No joke. “ … Students will go through the process of applying for a mail-in absentee ballot, they will fill out the ballot, and then, they don’t know where to get stamps,” said Lisa Connors with the Fairfax County Office of Public Affairs. White Zin is making a comeback … White Zin, the wine of jokes and first-time drinkers, is making a comeback. Yep, California winemakers are re-imagining White Zinfindel and getting wine drinkers to embrace the original pink wine. (Munchies

Speaking of wine … A winery has introduced the world’s first flat wine bottle. Garçon Wines has designed a full-size wine bottle that is flat – think a flask. And one last wine-y fact … A new study has revealed that wine in a can is not some fly-by-night fad – but a trend that looks to be here to stay. The biggest reasons? Convenience, sustainability and cost. (Forbes

Are you carrying around “love weight”? A new survey by Jenny Craig found that 79 percent of Americans in a relationship are carrying around some “love weight” – or pounds put on since the relationship began. According to the research, the average respondent had gained 36 pounds since they first started dating their current partner. 17 pounds were gained in the first year alone! Men were much more likely to gain weight during the first year of a relationship than women (69 percent vs. 45 percent). Why the love weight? 42 percent say it’s because of dining out more, 34 percent say they were less active, and 30 percent of respondents blamed it on staying in, ordering take-out or cooking at home and drinking together.
