STARWALKS are fun astronomical and night sky-themed programs open and free to the public. Created to be entertaining as well as informative and interactive, the programs are for the curious novice and advanced stargazer alike.
Events include introductions to the night sky, viewing the cosmos with telescopes and the naked eye, nighttime photography tips, interdisciplinary science trivia and presentations, sky models, sky art, music, food and a universe of fun!
Enjoy the breathtaking nighttime horizon-to-horizon star-filled skies on the Walkway Over the Hudson.
2018 Schedule
STARWALKS begin just after sunset on the Walkway Over the Hudson and end by 11pm.
Saturday, May 12 – “Jupiter, the King of the Big Sky”
Sunday, July 15 – “When the Moon Meets Venus”
Sunday, August 12 – “Shooting Stars and Big Planets”
Friday, September 7 – “Distant Realms: Neptune and Andromeda”
Notes: No planned rain-dates – events held even if cloudy. Lighting will be limited to preserve the sky, so please bring a flashlight.
