Drive-Thru Picnics for Hudson Valley Seniors.

Family picnicking together outdoors

Every summer, Dutchess County senior citizens look forward to the annual Office for the Aging summer picnics. It's a chance to get out, see some friends, learn more about what the OFA has been doing and eat some delicious food absolutely free, thanks to great community partners.

This year, due to the pandemic, things have to be done a little differently and the staff at the OFA are up to the challenge. Seniors will still receive their invites in the mail, some have already gone out, and there will still be 12 picnics, starting at the end of July and running through early September, but this year they will be Drive-thru Picnics.

Here's how it will work. When you get your invitation, you will see the date and location of your picnic, some locations have changed and you will see the phone number for you to make your reservation. When you call, you will be asked to reserve a time to pick-up your meal, which will help keep everyone safer.

The picnic meals are once again free and are being provided by delis throughout Dutchess County, each one local to the picnic it will serve. Click here for all the details. Happy picnicking!
