Free Rabies Clinic Coming to the Hudson Valley

Dog vaccinated by veterinarian

The theme for this year's World Rabies Day is "End Rabies: Collaborate, Vaccinate" and that is exactly what the Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health are trying to do by offering a free rabies vaccination clinic.

According to DBCH, the clinic will be held on October 24 from 8-noon at the Public Safety Building at 505 Main Street in Poughkeepsie. The clinic is free for Dutchess County residents, proof of residency is required. Non-residents will be charged a $10 fee.

This clinic is for cats, dogs, and domestic ferrets 3 months of age or older. All dogs must be on a leash and cats and ferrets in carriers. Pre-registration is required by visiting DSCPA.org or by calling 845-452-772 ext. 417. No walk-ins will be permitted.
