Doing your taxes is never fun. It can also be extremely confusing to do them yourself and expensive to have them prepared by someone else. There is help. Take a deep breath and read on.
Each year, the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, provides tax assistance to anyone, free of charge, with a special focus on those 50 years or older. This can be either in-person or remote assistance, except for this year.
Here in the Hudson Valley, due to Coronovirus restrictions, you can choose either Tax Site Service or No Contact Service. Here's the difference. With Tax Site Service, you bring your documents in, by appointment, they are scanned by a Tax Aide, and then your taxes are done remotely. No contact service requires that you scan all of your documents and email them to a Tax Aide.
No matter which option you choose, you still need to make an appointment and there are some restrictions. In addition, you will need things like a printer, reliable internet, a valid email address, and more. Get all the requirements and answers to any questions you may have by clicking here.
Here's to everyone getting a refund this year!
