Hyde Park NY Field of Honor®

The Hyde Park Education Foundation is sponsoring its third Field of Honor® on Memorial Day weekend, May 28-30, 2022, on the lawn in front of the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site, on Route 9 in Hyde Park. The Field of Honor® is a display of 20+ full-sized American flags, mounted on 8’ poles. At the HPEF website, https://www.HydeParkEducationFoundation.org , flags can be purchased or dedicated; click on “Sponsor a Flag” Each flag purchased can be labeled in memory or in honor of a veteran, a fallen soldier, or anyone the buyer wishes to remember. The Hyde Park Field of Honor® opening ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 28, at 10:00 a.m.

There will be live, local entertainment and a kids’ tent for activities, crafts and games on Saturday, Sunday and Mondays . On Monday at 2:00 p.m., after the Hyde Park Memorial Day Parade, FDR High School Music alumni will perform a concert on the Main Stage. All events at the Field of Honor® are free to the public, and open from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The Hyde Park Education Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit group, whose mission is to provide financial resources to individual schools and district-wide programs and activities that encourage and enhance the educational opportunities and well-being of the students of the Hyde Park Central School District. Since its re-establishment in 2017, the HPEF has organized drives to collect donations for the Hygiene Closets at several of the Hyde Park Schools, raised money for Teacher Grants, which awarded over $10,000.00 to teachers for special programs in their classrooms, distributed more than $5000.00 to all the schools for "special projects", and began an annual Senior Scholarship of $1000.
