Canaan Congregational Church (Canaan UCC) Partners with NY Connects - Columbia County, The Healthcare Consortium and AARP to Offer the Community the “FraudWatch” Program
This Free Event is on September 6 at 10:30 AM at 1670 County Route 5
Columbia County residents are cordially invited to attend Canaan UCC’s Community Seminar Series, featuring “FraudWatch” a program presented by
AARP in collaboration with staff at NY Connects - Columbia County, a program of The Healthcare Consortium.
This workshop will be co-presented by Alexandria Douglas-Bartolone, a volunteer for AARP-NY's Advocacy team, and Bud (Eli Monroe) Newell, a member of AARP-NY's Capital Region Speakers Bureau.
According to AARP, “the FraudWatch Network was created to empower consumers to spot and avoid scams, and to provide support and guidance to victims and their families when fraud happens. One of AARP's founder's primary goals was to protect the financial security of older Americans, so fighting identity theft and fraud is a big part of AARP's mission today.”
This AARP presentation is designed to help protect you and your loved ones by helping you to:
· Spot Fraud Trends – Understanding how much fraud is out there and what it looks like
· Practice Prevention –Practicing prevention strategies to avoid becoming a target
· Find Helpful Resources – If you or someone you love has become a victim
